William A. Meyer, Chairman
William Meyer is the Chairman of Meyer Jabara Hotels, which owns and operates 40 hotels in 15 states. He started his hotel career with Servico Inc., then a small publicly traded hotel company. Over his 12 years with Servico, the company grew to become one of the largest independent hotel companies in the United States. Before selling his interest, Mr. Meyer served as Servico’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
Within Palm Beach County, Bill Meyer has developed a number of real estate projects. These include Interstate Plaza, a 76,000 square foot office building in Boca Raton; 1601 Belvedere, a 100,000 square foot office building and Embassy Suites hotel in West Palm Beach; The Dunes of Ocean Ridge, an oceanfront condominium in Ocean Ridge; Jupiter Square, a 105,000 square foot shopping center in Jupiter; The Residences of Windsor Court in Palm Beach; the 1,600 acre Fox Property in West Palm Beach; the 500 acre Crestwood Lakes residential development in Royal Palm Beach, now known as Madison Green; and Devonshire at PGA National, a senior life care community in Palm Beach Gardens.
Mr. Meyer has also been involved in other companies outside of Palm Beach County unrelated to the hotel industry. In 1997, he acquired a controlling interest in CRSA Holdings which provided management, development, and marketing services to 25 continuing care retirement communities across the country. After serving as Chairman of the company for over 8 years, Mr. Meyer sold his interest.
In 2009, Mr. Meyer formed NuVista Living to build and operate new Florida-based senior housing communities including skilled nursing, rehabilitation, and assisted living facilities. NuVista in Wellington, FL, and NuVista in North Tampa opened in 2011. Shortly thereafter, Mr. Meyer sold his interest in the company.
Mr. Meyer has been an avid philanthropist outside of his career in real estate. He is the former Vice Chairman of the Board of Trustees of JFK Medical Center in Atlantis, Florida. He is also a past Chairman (6 years) of the Kravis Center for the Performing Arts in West Palm Beach and currently serves on its Operations, Finance, and Development Committees.
He is presently the Chairman of the Quantum Foundation, one of the largest charitable foundations in the State of Florida. He was, for 20 years, a member of the Executive Committee of the Meyer Jewish Academy in Palm Beach Gardens and now serves on the Investment Committees of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County, the Community Foundation of Palm Beach and Martin Counties, the Palm Beach United Way, and the Kravis Center. He was the first Philanthropist Investor in the Palm Beach Philanthropy Tank and a founder of Temple Judea in Palm Beach Gardens. For the past 5 years he has chaired the Jewish Federation’s Campaign for the Future which raised over $350 million. The William A. Meyer Jewish Community Foundation is named in his honor. He also serves on the Board of Cox Science Center and Aquarium in West Palm Beach and The Fund for West Palm Beach Police.
Mr. Meyer graduated from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, The London School of Economics, Georgetown University Law School, and Harvard Business School.
To complement his professional, academic, and philanthropic achievements, he is also the recipient of the Haym Salomon Award from the Anti-Defamation League and was named the 2017 Outstanding Volunteer Fundraiser by the Association of Fundraising Professionals of Palm Beach County. In 2019, he received the Jeanne Levy Community Leadership Award from the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County. Mr. Meyer has also been inducted into the Junior Achievement Hall of Fame and was recognized by Palm Beach Atlantic University on American Free Enterprise Day with a Companion Medal. In 2024 he received the John C. Randolph Award from the Palm Beach Fellowship of Christians and Jews.
He has won the Golf Club Championship at the Palm Beach Country Club four times. He has two grown children, Candice and A.J., and resides on Palm Beach Island with his wife, Renay Meyer.
