Chef's Garden - Fresh & Local
THE "NEW" CHEFS' GARDEN
Imagine meeting friends at a local restaurant and bar where the hand-crafted cocktails featured on the menu are infused with fresh herbs and produce grown by the culinary team themselves. Chefs' Gardens are popping up across the US. From soil to plate - or more appetizingly termed, farm-to-table, is a top trend for MJ Hotels restaurants and hotels. Featured below are two of our hotels that have this trend down to a science and keep improving year after year.
HILTON CHRISTIANA ~ DELAWARE
The heirloom tomatoes that are grown in their garden are not available commercially, which creates an exclusive element to their food offerings. Another perk is that the freshness can’t be beat! The herbs are handpicked and minutes later are served in dishes and hand-crafted cocktails for the Market Kitchen & Bar, the Club on Four, and also catered events.
PROVIDENCE MARRIOTT DOWNTOWN ~ RHODE ISLAND
With a rainy spring and a cool and sunny summer, the Providence Marriott was able to utilize their garden herbs in the Bluefin Grille, in banquets, for their Chef's Table events, and even for drinks at the bar. They always had fresh mint for mojitos, thyme and rosemary for infused simple syrups, and basil for other drinks. They also featured their bounty of garden basil on their signature margherita pizzas in the restaurant. Fresh from the garden chives & sage will be used at their Thanksgiving Day Buffet.
